Badminton Alley - Yonex SHB-65Z3 C-90 Natural Limited Edition Badminton Shoes

The NEW Power Cushion SHB-65 Z C-90 Natural badminton shoes is a limited edition release for the Badminton World Championship 2023; only limited quantities are made. The shoes is designed with the goal of a 'shoeless feel' in mind. The new model combines an upgraded comfortable fit and increased traction for an overall elevated badminton shoe that glides across the court with ease.

As the iconic design of POWER CUSHION 65 series evolved, the challenge was to combine maintained shoe effectiveness with enhanced sustainability. In 2015, Yonex discovered the soft, eco-friendly [ ECOPET ] material and later implemented it in the shoe designs. Multiple prototypes were crafted to create the series' greener innovation. Today, Yonex achieves the increased use of eco-friendly material in the series with the new limited-edition release - POWER CUSHION 65 Z C-90. This one-time production exclusive model will be available in stores from September 2023.

The POWER CUSHION 65 Z C-90 embodies a fusion of eco-friendliness and performance. The limited design features the upper material crafted with synthetic leather that contains approximately 90% recycled polyester (*1). This updated design upholds the series' iconic performance, providing support for fast and complex footwork. The [ C ] in the POWER CUSHION 65 Z C-90 represents [ Celebration ] of achieving the usage of 90% recycled polyester, and [ Commitment ] to continuing innovations that benefit the players and ensure sustainability for the future.

INNOVATION

Seamless Upper + Lateral Shell

The seamless upper is an expanded synthetic leather piece that minimizes material overlap. This releases the stress from when the shoe is flexed, allowing a more comfortable fit. The hardened shell-like portion near the ankle, also known as the expanded lateral shell, provides a secure fit around the ankle.

RADIAL BLADE SOLE

The grip pattern of the sole has been redesigned creating the RADIAL BLADE SOLE. By finely arranging a windmill shape that combines areas with large and small indentations, the weight of the shoe is dispersed, and the grip is improved by approximately 3%*. Resulting in a grip that supports quick dashes and sudden stops.

POWER CUSHION+

The 65 Z features a specially shaped wedge of POWER CUSHION+ in the heel designed specifically to absorb shock associated with the footwork of badminton. By improving shock absorption, our POWER CUSHION+ technology transforms impact into energy. A 28%* increase in shock absorption and a 62%** increase in repulsion when compared to the standard EVA materials.

  • Toe Assist Shape - A toe-centric design that cuts down on pressure in the big toe, as well as offering improved support at the mid-foot and heel for a stable fit. Power loss is reduced, allowing for swift footwork.
  • Power Cushion Plus ( 3 Layers) - The Yonex Power Cushion effectively absorbs shock then reverses the impact energy for smooth transfer into the next movement. Compared with conventional POWER CUSHION, the new POWER CUSHION PLUS boasts 25% more shock absorption and 12% more repulsion.
  • ToughBrid Light - ToughBrid Light retains the exact performance as ToughBrid yet is 11 percent lighter, generating a significant reduction in leg and knee stress.
  • Round Sole - The Yonex Round Sole is designed to provide all-around support for quick and smooth footwork. The Round Sole integrated into the forefoot and heel of the shoe to minimize power loss, ensuring smooth movements the transfer of maximum energy to successive movements.
  • Power Graphite Lite - A super-light graphite plate is inserted under the middle portion of the foot to increase stability and reduce weight within the shoe.
  • Syncro-Fit Insole - Yonex Synchro-Fit Insole construction creates a secure contact between foot and shoe, reducing energy wastage through an improved fit. By holding the heel firmly against the insole, the gap between foot and shoe is reduced, improving comfort and performance, ensuring the foot has maximum grip inside the shoe.

  • Lateral Shell - The lateral shell located on the outside of the forefoot prevents sliding at the edge of the sole. It reduces power loss, increases footwork response and creates smooth, fluid and offensive foot movements.
  • Double Russel Mesh - Super lightweight and durable, this ultra-fine mesh provides 8 times more air-exchange performance than ordinary mesh for maximum moisture release.
  • Tough Guard III - Three times stronger than ordinary synthetic leather and more resistant against heat for prolonged comfort and better performance.
